My Degree, My Country, My World


                        In every person’s mind, they have many dreams. I also have a dream to achieve some goals in my life. One of them is getting undergraduate. So, for that reason I faced G.C.E. A/L examination and got the results to get in to the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. As an undergraduate student I am following Mathematics and Computer Science as my subject combinations. These are my favorite subjects. And, those are very familiar with each other in the industry and the outside world.
                        My ambition is to be a software engineer or an architecture. This is depending on the experience from the job. In my beautiful country there are many IT based companies spread across the country day by day. So, there are many opportunities for the software engineers to get their jobs easily in my country. As computer science is a very popular and fast-growing subject in Sri Lanka, there are many degree holders with IT knowledge and many of them are very talented.
                        Not only in my country there are many opportunities in other countries as well. Like in USA, UK, Australia, middle east and Europe. In those countries, there are many Sri Lankans work and our country has great demand of producing professionals and experts. Nowadays we can’t find any product or service without use of any computer software. So, there is very high demand for IT industry now and future.
                        We also can provide many solutions to my country problems to escape from them and high productivity with more efficiency with the help of IT. I think I can serve for my country and world with my degree, my knowledge and experience.

I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
