My degree, my country, and my world

I'm a person who like to work with technical devices like computers and mobile phones. My hope was to do my higher studies after A/L's in Engineering field or in IT field. Luckily I could archive that. Now I'm a undergraduate in Information & Communication Technology at Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. 

 In present world IT field plays a major role. Because everything in the modern world are based on computers. At every home, shop, school, hospital, business use computers for make easy their works. Indeed IT has applied for every fields on the earth. There for there are many job opportunities available in this field such as software developers, web developers, Database administrators, networking engineers and many more. And also there are many companies based on IT field because of the demand on IT field.

 The degree program that I am following based on most of the important subjects in IT like Software Engineering, Networking, Programming, Web Development, and Image Processing. We are studying not only one programming language, we are studying C language, Java , C++ , C# and some more. And also this degree program contains some extra courses like Philosophy of Science , Marketing , and English. All of these subject in my degree program helps to build a good knowledgeable person.

 Sri Lanka is a developing country.IT field in Sri Lanka is not developed as much as when comparing with a developed country. But more IT related projects & research are being going in Sri Lanka. And also there are so many IT companies such as Millennium IT,WSO2,Vertusa Polaris. They hire employees for high salary. There for we can assume that there is a good demand in my country for a ICT degree holder.

 As I mentioned above the whole world runs with IT. Without IT any other field will not survive. With the development in many year IT is moving to a new generation called Artificial Intelligence. With that generation IT field will become more powerful and strong. Therefor I'm very glad to study ICT and hope to serve for my country and the world with my knowledge and make a better future my self.

It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
