My degree My Country My world




I am undergraduate in physical science at faculty of Applied science, Rajarata university of Sri Lanka.  Happy to say I'm lucky to select government university. I selected Mathematics and Computer Science combination for my higher studies. Every industry uses computers so naturally computer scientists can work in any. There are plenty of job opportunities  available in this field such as web developer, software engineer, architecture, administration authority, teacher and many more. Various courses like Artificial Intelligence (Robotics), Programming Languages, Software Engineering, System Programming, Micro Processor, Interfacing & Assembly, Algorithm Analysis and Design, Digital Signal Processing, Network and System Security, System analysis and design, Computer graphics and Image processing, Database management System, Object Oriented Programming provided me with a strong footing in the theoretical concept of Computer Science.
We all know that technology can help solve problems, but it can also improve solutions. Computer science students build or create an innovative app or device .It may be useful for everyone. Imagine a world without Google and you will see your life immediately coming to a standstill. That is the power of Google — a tiny fraction of the products powered by the science behind computers, saving the users a great amount of their precious time. Artificial intelligence is used to build expert systems that make diagnoses or check for drug interactions. Face recognition; email patterns; finding odd behavior in a crowd; breaking codes: issues that would be addressed by a computer scientist interested in security. Those are some of  benefits of computer science for my country and my world.

I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
