My degree , My country , My world

 With the endless beauty, SriLanka boasts a rich endemic biodiversity and reasonable diversity in ecosystems. Therefore as a Srilankan undergraduate student in biological science at a faculty of applied science, I should be enough proud on myself since I can serve my country in many ways.
As we all know our nation serve as invaluable remedies for a host of infectious diseases. So in order to harness the potential of our island in biodiversity, according to me the requirement of "a pool of talent which equipped with specialist in applied knowledge in fundamental biology" is a must.
 In our degree program as a biological science student I follow a subject combination in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry which are aid in fulfilling the above criteria. With the above mentioned knowledge we have given the chance to wander in the spectrum of employment opportunities with prospects of joining government ministries, private organizations, conservation organizations and museums as well as opportunities for internships. 
 Throughout our journey in this degree program we could catch up some timely topics as genetics and microbiology, insect pest control, human nutrition, natural resources and their management, ecological and biological statistics and so on. 
 So from these key subject areas we could serve our tiny nation widely. Furthermore we will be able to upgrade our motherland to the level of other countries. Also as a country we can equally grow and rise up with the entire world. So finally as an undergraduate student I have a clear path to serve our country and furthermore to the entire world. Additionally in order to link these three criteria (degree, country, world) all of us should have a huge responsibility to work along this path with an acute vision successfully.

I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
