My Degree, My Country, My World

The meaning of higher education is expressed in many different ways due to the experience the student would like to receive.  Throughout   the world there are many higher education paths. So it is easy   for students to choose among them. There is a dramatic increase of Information and Communication Technology that integrates with education. That’s why I have chosen Information and Communication field for my future steps towards the education.
I have followed “Information and Communication Technology” degree program in Rajarata University of SriLanka since 2016 January. This degree program allows students from Mathematics, Biology, Art and Commerce. This degree program will obtain 3 years of Bachelor of Science in ICT. A few of students would be selected for the 4th year Bachelor of Science in ICT.
The importance of Information and Communication Studies is crucial in today’s career world. There are lots of ICT industries, universities for youngsters not only in Srilanka but also in whole world.
ICT is one of the fastest growing sectors in Srilanka. There are lots of opportunities for   digitizing the government, software and hardware vendors, telecommunications equipment,  software  application development in Srilanka. When I complete my degree program I would be able to get a job in my field.

During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields.
