MY DEGREE , MY COUNTRY , MY WORLD.

                                               The day that I got the letter from the university grants commission informing that I have selected to a university to follow a degree ,was an unforgettable day in my life. I was selected for the applied science degree in biological sciences. With the happiness of being selected  for a degree , a massive curiosity arouse in my mind asking that what would I learn by following this degree? But after entering to the university I realized how much I am blessed to be selected for this degree.
                                            As Sri lankans we are blessed with free education. Therefore it is a must to serve my country. Sri Lanka is a resourceful country with a rich biodiversity, beautiful landscapes, natural resources etc. In our degree programme we are able to contribute with microbiology, virology, disease management, pharmacology ,etc. that is important in medical industry,
pest management,disease control, pathology, pedology in agriculture, food industry and many other industries, tourism,and cosmetic industry etc. Also it helps in conserving and protecting the flora, fauna and the environment.
                                           This is how that we can contribute our values for the country and by this we can make the country a nice and a developed country. By this we can make a better future to the next generations.By sharing the values , knowledge , facilities with the world , we would be able to survive together in all ups and downs.And can get a brighter future and make the world a better place for every organism in the world.

So if we need a good job, we may have load of qualifications. So my degree is BSc. General in Applied science (Biological Science). My target is finding a good job. I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
