My degree, my country , my world

"Dream your world and chase your dreams"; this was one of my father's favorite quotes, which inspired me since i entered grade one of my alma mater. While following my inspiration, i finally found my world. It was Chemistry. The subject Chemistry became my whole world, and i believe that without chemistry the world and our lives would be meaningless; because, as human beings,we are a part of mother nature ,made out of atoms ,molecules etc. which is the basis of chemistry.
As the first step of chasing my dream, i entered the Biology stream in Advanced Level and as a result, i recieved university entrance to follow the Applied Sciences degree programme in bio science stream at University of Rajarata. Then i decided to choose Botany, Zoology and Chemistry as my  subjects of study ,because we as sri lankans  mostly depend on agriculture. Therefore i believe that a keen knowledge in botany will benifit myself in finding a better job and also it is well known that chemistry and botany is a good blend to study because most of the industries in our country related to food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics are based on both chemicals and plant based products. Therefore a good knowlege about chemistry and plants will guide me to work on many research works. So today, i feel so blessed to follow this degree because it is obvious that the particular degree holders explore the job market in various fields and also it is believed that the graduates who have studied chemistry as a subject and specially for a special degree programme explore the industrial world with a good payment basis.
So, being a chemistry lover, now i cannot dream of a carrier other than being a Chemist. And in another three years time, i would be so grateful if i could step forward to follow a Ph.D  in the field of Chemistry, which would be the ultimate passion and the goal of my life while heading towards serving my mother nation.
