My Degree, My Country, My World.



I had the opportunity to read the book wings of fire. There late Indian president said dream more. I had a dream to become a Genetical Engineer. But fate had blundered me and I have been selected to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Initially I was disappointed, depressed, and could not console my mind. But after started studying I realized I have come to the correct place. Yes it’s my luck and privilege to study ICT.
This 21st modern smart world is not spinning around sun. Yes it spinning around the axis of ICT. Every department is now computerized. Internet service is spread in every nock and corner. IT is dominating the current world.
I’m happy to be a part of this dominating system. If I studied Genetical Engineering my life and my talent would be cornered or confined to a small area, to be honest I would have wasted my life. But luckily with this degree I can be a part of this IT and like Late Steve Job says
“we will change the world”
I will definitely change and innovate many things with the help of my IT knowledge. My dream is to work for WSO2. There are so many IT companies out there in srilanka like WSO2, Vertusa, 99x.
But I prefer WSO2 for some reasons. There are 2 branches for this company in srilanka. It’s well reputed. Did many innovations, encouraging youngsters.
As we are still developing 3rd world country our knowledge regarding IT is loss with the minimum resources. We need to complete with the modern updated technology. Every country has started to create their own phones, software, robots and marching further.
In order to give a healthy competition we need to develop our knowledge and work hard for IT. So I have chosen WSO2 on my future. As a IT person I think in a resource of this country. With my knowledge and experience. I can do many extra ordinary things to my country.

It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields.
