MY DEGREE, MY COUNTRY, MY WORLD

When I am going to in front of the mirror I have a look at towards me. Really I feel that how fast the time flies. It’s nearly about one and half years of my first visit to Rajarata University premises as a student of Faculty of Applied Science.  I am really proud of myself as I was able to fulfill my parents dream.
                              Really information and communication technology plays a major role in world being an aid to the people by making their life easy. Information and communication technology is considered as a back bone of most of the industries. In considering  that all most all firms and consumers  use computers and internet connection for economic purposes, such as providing consumers with a more  diversified and customized products , improving product quality ,and selling goods and services. The extension of ICT and its influences on economic growth in Sri Lanka has increased very fast during last two decades.In fact ICT is the combination of electronics, telecommunications, software, networks and decentralized computer work stations, and the integration of information media, all of which impact firms, industries, and the economy as a whole.

                                    I am really proud to say that I am an undergraduate who studies ICT.  I am really interesting in coding in java, c++ languages. I most preferred to code and feel happiness of making a software in order to have the correct output.  I would prefer in web developing concepts also. Between among two fields I would prefer to improve my career in coding and joining the industry as a Software Engineer.

            We all know that this world is really competitive in making changes.so this 21st century belongs to a digital world.so it is a key source of competitive advantage. As of 2010, U.S.  Firms held a 26 percent share of the global IT industry and are the world’s largest producers of IT goods and services. The probability of a firm developing a product or process innovation increase with the intensity of the firm’s IT use. So I think I will be able to contribute to the welfare of my world as a good civilian in order to make this world a better world by improving my knowledge in Information and Communication Technology.

I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
