My degree, My country and My world

Education plays a very important role in making my life as complete and fulfilling as possible. While in school there are many goals that I must set for myself. These goals are to make my future rewarding. To achieve my goals, I must make important decisions about my education. The decisions I make will affect my future. So, the turning point of my life was my Advanced Level results.

I could follow BSc.in Information and Communication Technology degree after getting my A/L result. Therefore, I was entered to the Rajarata Universiry of Sri Lanka located in Mihinthale. It was the one of ancient city in Sri Lanka. I love my degree. Because ICT plays very important role in now a day and, I like ICT field.

Information and communication technology (ICT) is one of the fastest growing sectors in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has been quick to adopt new information technology and has a high mobile phone penetration rate, approximately 115 percent. The private sector is mostly computerized, with many public institutions also having access to IT facilities. If we get banks, hospitals, supermarkets all of they are computerized. And, if we get an Apparel industry also they do lot of things by using IT. So, there are high demand for the people who have a ICT degree.

If we get the world many countries around the world highly addicted to the IT sector. Because if we use IT for do our work it saves our time, money and it helps to finish our work effectively and efficiently. Most of the foreign companies used robots to their manufacturing process and they reduce the use of man power. And, IT helps to modern education also. Most of the countries around the world use latest technology such as smart boards, virtual classes.   

So as a technological world the degree to which I am pursuing is very beneficial.

I’m following Bachelor of Information and Technology in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields. Actually it is a good guidance to my future life. In Sri Lanka, there are so many IT companies that we can give our service and get a high salary such as Millennium IT, WSO2, Vertusa Polaris.
