My Degree, My Country and My World

          I'm an undergraduate student of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and I'm following a Bachelor of science in Information and Communication degree. In my degree program, I can improve my knowledge and skills in various fields in ICT with learning so many different subjects such as Internet Programming, Image Processing, Computer Networking, Web Designing, Software Engineering, C Programming, and etc.

          Today, ICT has become popular and necessary field in our country as well as all around the wold. As a result of globalization, now there are so many global ICT services companies have established in Sri Lanka such as HSBC, Intel, Motorola, Virtusa, Pearsons and etc. So, the demand for ICT graduates in our country has been raised. Therefore, ICT degree holders are opened for very good career opportunities in today Sri Lanka. After considering these things, I think students can grab good careers in field of ICT in our country after completing this degree and they can help to raise the capital economy of  Sri Lanka.

          Now a days there are so many job opportunities in ICT field in global arena because of the rapid growth of ICT. Not only in other fields but also in ICT field we can develop our skills as the way we want according to the modern technology. ICT graduates are necessary people in today's global community and they can also have a good income. So, I believe that my degree is very valuable in all aspects. So, finally I think I will be able to have a good career in ICT field and also, I might become a good asset for the country after completing my degree.

It is generally a three year degree program and, if any student wish to follow four year special degree that student can follow it according to their GPA value. During these three years I have to learn many subjects. Some of them are Web technology, Internet programming, Software engineering etc. In my degree program I’m allowing to learn not only ICT related subjects, but also subjects like Marketing, Professional English which are related to other fields.
